Do I Have a Calling or Just a Dream? (Still Figuring That Out)
Ever wondered if your dream is really your calling—or if you're just making it all up? Same. This isn’t a blog post with a perfect answer, but a real-time walk through creativity, conviction, and learning to follow Jesus first, not the dream.
Finding My Way Back, One Step at a Time
After a year of searching for the “perfect” church and community, I realized I was chasing connection on my own terms—and missing what God wanted to show me in the process. This isn’t a blog post with a perfect ending, because the story’s still being written. But I’m learning to try again, with a heart that’s open and a faith that’s willing.
God’s Timing vs. Our Expectations
Waiting can feel heavy—especially when we don’t see progress, answers, or the fulfillment of the dreams we carry. It’s easy to wonder, “Why is it happening for others but not for me?” or “Did I hear God wrong?” But what if the waiting isn’t a delay, but preparation? What if God is not just working on the promise, but working on you? Even in uncertainty, His timing is perfect, and surrendering to His plan brings a peace that control never can.
Small Beginnings
Never underestimate the power of a small yes. God doesn’t need a grand gesture—just your obedience. That little step, the moment of faith, might be the beginning of the rest of your life.
When I said yes to a simple girls' weekend, I had no idea it would change the course of my life. I had no idea that one conversation would reignite a gift I had abandoned. I had no idea that a single act of obedience—journaling my raw, unfiltered thoughts before God—would set off a chain reaction of healing, growth, and purpose.
If you’re waiting for the “big moment” to step into what God has for you, don’t. Start small. Say yes in the little things. Because what feels like a small beginning might just be the doorway to something greater.
A Letter to my Younger Self
Dear Younger Me,
I know you don’t see it yet, but this season will not last forever. The weight you feel, the loneliness, the doubt—it will not define you. One day, you will look back and see how God was weaving something beautiful, even in the moments that felt empty.
Keep writing. Even when it feels like no one will ever read it. Even when your words feel like they don’t matter. Even when you want to quit. One day, those pages filled with heartache will become a testimony of hope.
You are not forgotten. You are not too far gone. The dreams in your heart are not a mistake. God sees you. He is guiding you. And one day, you will stand in awe of all He has done.
With love and hope,
Your Future Self
Sabbath + Banana Nut Bread
I have learned to love slow weekends—no agenda, no rush, just rest. There was a time when I filled every moment to avoid stillness, but the biggest lesson I took from my twenties was the gift of Sabbath. God designed rest for us, yet we often resist it. Now, I choose one day a week to slow down, reset, and simply be. If you’re always on the go, I challenge you—clear a day, rest your mind, body, and soul, and see how your life changes.
